For running the Closed Beta on Windows Vista you can use this Workaround Guide, which should enable you to play on Vista 32bit. If you run Windows Vista 64 bit, you need DirectX 10.
Changing your user account system:
1. Go to "Start", "Control Panel" and click on "User Accounts Settings"
2. Turn User Account Control off, if it's on
3. Open C:\Windows\System32 and look for the "dplayx.dll" and copy the file and rename the new file to "dplay.dll"
4. Go to "Start" and click on "Run..." and run the "regsvr32 dplay.dll"
5. Turn the User Account Control on, if it was on before
6. Finally change to your Blitz1941 folder, press right mouse button on the BlitzClient2.exe and open the chart "Compatibility", use the compatibility mode and choose "Windows95"
7. Edit the settings of Blitz1941 to use either high or medium graphics with 1024x768 resolution and speed up mode
